Costa Teguise
is located on the south east coast of Lanzarote,
approximately 5 miles north of Arrecife. This resort has
five artificial, flat beaches and is the island's
surfing paradise. It is a favourite for a quiet
holiday, suitable for families and couples, alike.
The shops and restaurants are geared
towards holidaymakers. The nightlife is fairly quiet
though and there's not too much going on in the pubs and
clubs. The most exclusive hotels on the island are here,
including the only 5-star hotel Melía Salinas. You won't
find 'cheap' accommodation in Costa Teguise.
Playa de Las Cucharas
is the main beach of Costa Teguise. Some 700m long, this
wind-swept bay is a great place for surfers,
particularly since the western half of the beach is
reserved just for them. There are several surfing and
diving schools offering their services, and you
can hire surf boards, pedal boats, sun loungers and
sunshades. There are many beach bars available to sport
and sun-seekers, and thanks to a prefabricated mole and
many breakwaters which protect from the surf, this
gently sloping playa is also well-suited to families
with children.
Centro Las Cucharas is the place
to find many little shops, including the jewellery shop
La Perla, which offers mainly jewellery made out of the
lava half jewel Olivine and Modas Milano, which has
exquisite designer fashion in its assortment. Artesanía
Pepe sells textiles with embroidery of all kinds, and in
the shopping centre there is a supermarket which has a
good selection of newspapers. Bars and restaurants can
also be found here, but even at nights it is fairly
quiet and relaxed. As peaceful as the whole town of
Costa Teguise itself - the low construction, built in
the typical way of the Canaries with its white façades
and green wooden elements, Centro Las Cucharas radiates
certain tranquillity.
The Fun Factory
in Costa Teguise offers a wide range of possibilities.
In the big bar one can order little snacks and
cocktails, in the back room it is possible to play
billiards or you could dance to popular music.
Alternatively, you could just relax on the terrace and
watch the other night lovers!

Prado Verde
is a restaurant that really holds true to its name: the
'green meadow'. Dark green is really the dominant
colour. This bar in the Las Cucharas shopping centre
offers its guests cosy wicker chairs among palms. The

shopping or having spend the day on the beach - which is
close by.

El Pescador

Costa Teguise. Handcraft graduates of the academy in
Arrecife have decorated the walls of this fish

Among the extensive offerings on the menu, one can
specially recommend the fish soup and the salted fish.
